 8HA is one of the more unique radio stations in Australia. Independently owned and located right in the middle of the country, we are the only AM commercial station for around 1200 kilometres. Infact we are the only commercial AM Station in the Northern Territory. The station’s call letters mean Heart of Australia.
The station went to air for the first time on March 2nd, 1971. The first announcer was Trevor Watson who began what has now been over 30 years of quality broadcasting.
8HA presents a mix of News, Current Affairs, sport, entertainment and of course the best songs of all time.
Over the years 8HA has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for appeals such as Cyclone Tracy, the Katherine floods, and NSW and South Australian bushfires. Not to mention dozens of local charities.
We continue to serve the needs of listeners and businesses in the community, and have kick-started and furthered many radio careers.
