Sandee cut his 'Radio Teeth' on 8HA almost 21 years ago as a then 19 year old fresh out of 8HA's sister station 4KZ in Innisfail where he scored his first full time radio show fresh out of high school aged just 16. His Commercial Radio career has spannednearly 18 years and 11 radio stations culminating in obtaining his pilots license in 1996 and as an 'obvious' choice was 'head-hunted' for flying live-time airborne traffic reports over Melbournes CBD for nearly 4 years inventing the pseudonym Major Tom before hanging up both head-sets to persue a career tiling floors for a living which he did from 01 to 09. No pretty boy image to uphold here, Sandee doesn't mind digging in the dirt or re-building the odd car. He even spent time on the high seas off Cairns in a Cray-Fishing outfit but gleefully concedes... "I'm a land-lubber through and through me matey!" His passions include FIRST and FOREMOSTLY - 'The Judge' (Laws has the Princess Sandee has the judge) The missus Ness. His 1986 Porsche sports car - (A gift ffom the Gods, a great story to share over a beer). As he no longer flies the real planes, he now enjoys his first ever and former teenage relationship with the skies above with a return to Radio Controlled (R/C) Planes and Helicopters, and you can make a pretty sure bet to find him at the Alice Springs R/C Club on Undoolya Road early every Sunday morning tearing up the skies above, and sometimes below! And lastly his nemisis pooch, DIESEL, the MOST EVIL Silver Staffy - heaven help those who dare. You have been able to catch Sandee Beech every weekday morning from 6am to 9am since September 2010 and will do so for a while yet, combining his 'Early Morning Moccha' 6am to 7am 'Stirrings' helping the listener rise to a pleasant vibe of 'Just the right amount of talk and tunes' to get your brain into gear, ahead of the 7 to 8 hour, featuring Birthdays, Cactus, Stars, and the 'Lucky $5 bill'.
